Next MSBuild Article

by DRohm 9. January 2006 17:29
I'm currently working on the next article for MSBuild.  This go-round I'm going to talk about how you can integrate MSBuild with CruiseControl.NET (CCNET).  Besides the obvious benefit of having continuous integration with CCNET, I'll also highlight some more important tasks to use with MSBuild:
  • Installing and configuring CCNET on a build server.
  • Using Visual SourceSafe 2005 with MSBuild.
  • Parse project files using custom FileUpdate task.
  • Generating documentation for web projects (not easy!).
  • Run NUnit during build.
  • Create report from existing NUnit test results.
  • Zip and archive build files.
  • Deploy built project files to deployment folder.
  • Clean the build environment.
These are some of the things I'd like to touch on in the article, hopefully I can get to them all.  If you have anything that you'd like me to talk about be sure to let me know.
